The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee is doing well amongst MPs, and given our panel’s apparent preference for people who didn’t serve in Cabinet under Boris Johnson might have hoped for a better showing here. As it is, he beats only Jeremy Hunt and Grant Shapps, which won’t be encouraging for a man running from the centre.
